In what has been the most strange and disruptive year in many ways, with the best fun of racing being on hold, the lack of attendance and enjoyment at the track has been difficult, but we hope that you have still enjoyed following the action from home, or the office (or both)! It is great we have the technology to update you with what is going on at the yard and with positive feedback from the Point-to-Point Authority from last weekends' racing we are hopeful there may be more to come next year and as rules racing remains on, we are hopeful that we will all be able to attend a racecourse and have a jolly day out enjoying it all again in 2021.
To reflect on this year in a more positive note, it has still been a rather busy 2020, especially as we missed a few months in summer. We have followed a staggering 11 horses (same figure as 2019!). There have been some great highs, such as the 2 wins from La Rav, with that impressively timed ride from Paul Mulrennan at Newcastle, a low has to be no runners at York racecourse this year!! - it is always lovely to have a day out at home, as well as frustrations that Ebony Adams didn't make it as a racer and Socru and his attitude to the stalls despite all our efforts. However, we have enjoyed 49 runs, (3 Pointing), at 17 tracks, with 15 different jockeys. There have been 2 x 1sts, 6 x 2nds, 3 x 3rds and 3 x 4ths. A great effort in such difficult circumstances.
We will be starting 2021 with the following shares in SIX horses!
TAPIS LIBRE - 50% of Tapis Libre, who will continue to run for the Syndicate as in 2020. He didn't have a great season this year but we are hoping that his age isn't getting the better of him and there is still a further season left in him with Jo Mason.
QUICK LOOK - 25% share in him, as last year he will continue to race on the flat, starting in the summer months.
HOOFS HAPPY NOW - A 25% share in this horse which finishing 2nd on her final run this season at Redcar, should have more to give in her 2021 season. She has come on so much and we are really looking forward to seeing how she does. One to watch.
ENLIGHTEN - A 50% share in this 6yo who will hopefully show us a good time over the fences.
MANON - Our point-to-point horse. The LMS have a 75% share and she is coming along nicely, proving a nice jumper. She ran at Alnwick on the 13th Dec and had a great pop round, giving her jockey Phil a good feeling for next year's racing. The maiden race at Sheriff Hutton on Sunday the 17th January is where she will hopefully run again. Owners will be allowed at this event.
BAVARDAGES - A 50% share in this newcomer, who horse is already on the walker and will be starting work in January.
