Kaizen was bought as a yearling. He won on his debut at Catterick in 2001 when beating stablemate Preston Brook in a bumper. After three races he was sold to Dr John Hollowood to be trained by Andy Turnell. On his first race for his new trainer he collapsed and died after finishing eighth of 21 runners at AIntree.
