Duke Of Connaught's Story

Duke Of Connaught made his debut at Newcastle in 1979. He won the 'Bradford Novices Hurdle' at Wetherby in 1982 ridden by Phil Tuck. He had been pulled up on his previous start and the stewards enquired as to his improvement. It had been a fast run race and Duke Of Connaught hadn't been able to keep up and he'd been pulled up by the jockey who thought he had broken down. Duke Of Connaught had finished lame that day. Following his win Duke Of Connaught raced just once more, finishing third at Sedgefield.
