Spirit Of India made his debut at Redcar in 1965. He ran on over jumps for the first time in 1968 at Carlisle. Spirit Of India left the yard to be trained by GR Owen, and won at Warwick but later returned and won the 'Stanhope Selling Handicap Hurdle' at Sedgefield in 1970. His final race was at Market Rasen in January 1972.
