Yearlings (17)

Horses become yearlings on the 1st January the year after they were foaled. The yearlings spend much of their first year out in the fields, and are brought in during the late summer to be broken in and start their training as racehorses. They will be ridden and prepared to make their debuts when they are two year olds, whilst store horses will return to the fields to be trained to make their debuts at three and four years old.

Sort by gender.
