Mick Easterby has trained racehorses at New House Farm since 1961. He has sent out almost 2,500 winners and, now holding a joint licence with son David, is looking for a pupil assistant.
The successful candidate must be able to ride out, help out in the office, drive a horse box, take horses to the races - flat and jumps - along with many other duties at the yard.
We will train you to do what is needed to be a racehorse trainer and how to run a racing yard. When you leave you'll be fit to work anywhere in racing or even to set up on your own as a trainer! The position would be the perfect job for an ex-jockey, jumps or flat. In the past Oliver Greenall held this post for five years and is now a successful trainer in his own right.
