We have a long tradition of training National Hunt horses here at Mick Easterby Racing. Over the years we have sent out well known jumpers including Peterhof (Triumph Hurdle winner at the Cheltenham Festival), Mr Snugfit (twice placed in the Grand National), and other multiple winners such as Minster Glory and Coulton.
Galloping the horses and maintaining their stamina is a vital part of the training process, but in addition these horses must be able to jump. Negotiating hurdles and fences safely but also efficiently and at speed is essential.
All of our National Hunt horses are proven stayers, and the stiff uphill gallop ensures that they are never found wanting at the end of their races. The yard is also situated only a short journey from two of Yorkshire's most famous jumps tracks at Wetherby and Doncaster, and also close by are Market Rasen, Sedgefield and Newcastle.
At Mick Easterby racing we have access to top class schooling facilities and National Hunt jockeys in order to teach our horses how to jump and to ensure that these skills are maintained.
