Joanna Mason will make her long-awaited return to the saddle this evening.
She'll be riding Carolus Magnus in the 7.50 'Sky Bet Extra Places Every Day Handicap' at York.
Joanna has been out for around seven weeks folling a gallops accident in early June. She's been riding out at the yard for the past few days and yesterday was given the all clear by the doctor to resume racing.
Joanna has ridden 17 winners so far in 2023, a season that has been disrupted by two injuries, and she's now back to full fitness and ready to add to her tally.
"Now all the groundwork with fitness and nutrition has been done, the light at the end of the tunnel has finally come and within the last few days have got the all-clear to ride," said Jo this morning.
"My first ride back is at the York Music showcase meeting and my god I'm looking forward to getting back to what I love doing and hopefully the winners will start coming again."
