Thursday runners: Ayr, Pontefract and Chelmsford

There's plenty of action in store for Thursday as we have six runners across three different tracks.

Yorkshire Lady bounced back to form last time when winning at Windsor and she heads to Pontefract for the Pontefract Ben And Mary Hibbert Memorial Handicap. A winner of eight races from 36 starts, she'll be helped by the heavy rain that has fallen in South Yorkshire this week.

Veteran Contrast runs in the first division of the Always Trying Racing Syndicate Handicap and Lights Go Down competes in division two. Lights Go Down was runner up last time out at Ayr and he'll be looking to record his first career win and he'll be ridden by Joanna Mason for the first time.

It's the first day of Ayr's Western Meeting and we hand a debut to Yorkies Dream in the Almins Vantage/Lallemand Magniva Classic EBF Novice Stakes. Of those who race raced before Richard Fahey's Mr Colonel looks the pick having been narrowly beaten on debut at Hamilton last month. Of those making their debuts Charlie Johnston's Gaelic Approach is a half-brother to winner Bill Silvers (who had a career high BHA flat rating of 96) and was a 48,000 guineas purchase as a yearling.

Glorious Kitty takes her place in the Ladbrokes 'Get Rewarded With Ladbucks' Handicap looking for a first career win.

We have one runner at Chelmsford where The Resdev Scholar contests the Flutter Proudly Supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK Nursery Handicap where only three horses have been declared. Our horse ran respectably last time at Carlisle, beaten a length and a quarter when fourth of six, and he'll wear a first time hood for his all weather debut.
