The horses come first here at Michael & David Easterby Racing. Whether in or out of training we pledge to provide first class care for any horse for which we are responsible.
The duty of care extends beyond racing and we aim to rehome all of our retired racehorses. We often make our ex-racehorses available for sale and recent years have seen former racehorses go on to thrive in careers including polo, Point-to-Pointing, showjumping, horseball and eventing. In some cases ex-racehorses can be taken on as pets or riding horses.

We have a mailing list and we send round details of horses where they match the criteria set out by those looking to rehome.

Just A Puzzle is a very smart skewbald gelding by Embla Texas Hyjack. He stands at 17 hands.
Just A Puzzle's dam is Just Cliquot, a seven time winning Point-to-Pointer who won the Lady Dudley Cup at Chaddesley Corbett in 2005.
Just A Puzzle is a magnificent jumper and has the potential to be a very high class event horse.

Copper Burn is a good looking four-year-old bay gelding who was bred in Ireland. He has been with us since 2021, when he was purchased at Tattersalls Autumn Yearling Sales at Newmarket for 20,000 guineas. He has a very impressive American dirt pedigree from his sire (El Kabeir by the legendary Scat Daddy).
Copper Burn raced twice (Catterick and Redcar) but does not have the speed to win a race and we are making him available for sale off the track.
Standing at 16.1hh Copper Burn is a lovely ride and has been schooled over barrels and jumps well. He is ROR qualified.
Copper Burn has huge potential to be retrained for eventing or alternatively would make a sensible riding horse. He can be ridden at the yard by prior appointment.
