Abwab and Jodie: Rehomed Racehorse

Abwab and Jodie: Rehomed Racehorse

Abwab was purchased unraced out of Sir Michael Stoute's yard in 2018 from the Tattersalls Autumn Sales.

He raced in the colours of Southbank Racing, finishing sixth on his racecourse debut at Ripon in July 2019.

Abwab ran seven times in total, his final outing coming at Redcar in June 2020 where he finished 10th of 11 in the final race on the card, the 'Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap'.

The decision was taken to retire Abwab as he lacked the speed to win a race under rules.

Abwab was rehomed by Jodie and he was given the stable name 'Harry'. His early exploits included a canter on Epsom racecourse where his grandsire, the mighty super-sire Galileo, won the 2001 Derby.

Jodie continues the story here.

"He has been a busy boy! I could send you a million photos! He's been dressaging and even tried a few novice tests. He has been really getting going with his jumping. He’s been cross country and did his first hunter trial! We have a few sponsors now - Cavaletti our saddle company, Equine Exceed our supplement company and Copa Equestrian a clothing brand. AND we have started vlogging!! @harrys_newchapter on YouTube!!"

We wish Jodie and Harry many happy years together.
