Last night Jo said "I've spoken with Dr Jerry Hill and he sounds postive. It'll be a boot for a couple of weeks then I can do more in Jack Berry House. He says it'll be four to six weeks. I am aiming for four!"
"Usually you just get back up and onto the next horse but I knew this one was worse than usual and grandad picked me up and after putting ice on in the office they drove me to hospital for x-rays".
"The strange thing is that it didn't hurt", said Jo. "The hospital staff couldn't believe it as it's usually a very painful break."
The timing of the accident couldn't have been worse. The stable's horses are in top form and the next ride Jo should have taken was Menelaus who won at Thirsk yesterday afternoon.
Joanna has been in excellent form of late, riding Shimmering Sands to victory at Doncaster on Saturday and then partnering Reach to win at Nottingham yesterday.
Although she'll be on the sidelines for the coming weeks her inspiration will certainly be a bonus for the stable.
