Pardon Me wins over hurdles at Market Rasen

Pardon Me took the 'Annie Gogo Memorial Handicap Hurdle' at Market Rasen this afternoon to become our second jumps winner of 2023.

The daughter of Tobougg had run well at the same track a fortnight ago and was sharper today, winning the two mile seven and a half furlong handicap hurdle race by five lengths under conditional Patrick Wadge.

Pardon Me didn't look like a winner as the field turned for home but she made steady progress in the home straight and finished strongly, showing an impressive turn of foot to readily beat the favourite Classic Lady who was receiving over a stone in weight from our horse.

Pardon Me was returned at odds of 7/2.

The oldest horse we currently have in training, Pardon Me has now won seven races for owner Mr Brown. Special mention goes to Serena Brotherton who rides out Pardon Me every morning and should take a lot of the credit for this victory!

Pardon Me was the stable's 37th winner of the year and our first winner at Market Rasen for six years, the previous victory coming in April 2017 when Ganbei won the '32Red Casino Handicap Chase' ridden by Harry Bannister.
