Lewis Chalkley rode his second career winner this afternoon when King Of The Jungle won the 'Flat Season Starts Now Apprentice Handicap' which opened the 2024 turf season at a soggy Catterick. In a blanket finish the 3/1 favourite got home a short head in front of Tommytwohoots with Quanah a neck back in third. The ground was an unknown for the son of Mayson but he coped well with the conditions to record his first win away from the all-weather. |

Beauty Choice made it a double winning the 'Download Raceday Ready Today Handicap' over seven furlongs. Beauty Choice passed the post three quarters of a length in front of favourite Langholm to give Joanna Mason her second winner for the stable in less than 24 hours. The son of Bated Breath was winning for the third time since joining us from Tattersalls Sales in 2022 and made the most of the testing conditions in a race run over 15 seconds slower than standard time. |

It was touch and go this morning whether the meeting would go ahead after heavy overnight rain on an already wet track. An inspection at 8am gave the thumbs up and the opportunity for us to open our account on turf for the 2024 season in style. |
