Sugarloaf Lad, a half-brother to yard legend Where's Jeff and winner Alpha Magic will make his debut at Carlisle on Monday. The two-year-old son of Mattmu had a gallop at Pontefract before racing last week and all went well and he'll now begin his career in the 'PricedUp Restricted Maiden Stakes' up in Cumbria.
Sugarloaf Lad is the latest offspring of winning point-to-pointer Piece of Magic to see the racecourse. Where's Jeff last year passed the £100,000 prizemoney landmark, having recorded 10 wins from 62 starts, and her 2022 foal Alpha Magic was also a winner at Thirsk on his debut. The offspring also include winning point-to-pointer Yoohoof who has gone on to become a broodmare herself.
Last week Piece Of Magic produced another foal, a full brother to Alpha Magic, and we hope there are more winners to come.
