Rehoming

Happily retired in Kent, here's Sugarloaf Lad who was rehomed last week by Rachel.

The two-year-old gelding raced three times on the flat but didn't have the ability of his half-siblings Where's Jeff and Alpha Magic.

We made Sugarloaf Lad available for rehoming after racing at Ripon in August and we had a lot of enquiries.

Sugarloaf Lad now lives with a couple of other horses, a Shetland pony and a flock of rare breed sheep and we know he is in excellent hands.

"He didn’t go crazy when we turned him out," said Rachel. "He's a little unsure of our rare breed sheep but looking very relaxed and at home."

"These (photos) are both from the night he arrived. He seems well. We've just let him chill in the field with friends either side. He's eating well and happy to have his feet picked out. He seems very happy with himself but he doesn't like our flies so he's got a fly mask on now (not as glamorous for his photos)."

A big thank you to Rachel for offering Sugarloaf a fabulous home and thank you also to Sugarloaf Lad's kind racing owners Mr Pollock and Mr Jones for making this happen!
