Le Jet made his debut at Beverley in April 1974. His first win was the 'Harraby Novices Hurdle' at Carlisle in October 1975. Le Jet will always be remembered for his win at Carlisle on the 11th December 1975, the same day as the funeral of is work rider Jimmy Buchanan who died in a tragic accident at the yard. Le Jet was a horse that Jimmy had ridden on the gallops only days previously. It was as if the horse had done it for Jimmy. Le Jet went on to win over fences at Teesside Park in 1977. In 1978 he was sold to Miss S. Morris and continued his jumping career in the west country. |
