A homebred by Workboy out of L'Elita who also won for the stable, Zoilo mad his debut at Chester in May 1980. He won the 'Staunton 2yo Maiden Stakes' as a juvenile. Zoilo was retired after one run over hurdles in September 1982 at Hexham.
