Spirit Of Acklam was a winner on the first day of Ayr's Western Meeting this afternoon. Under a fabulous ride by Joanna Mason he showed true grit to take the 'Western House Hotel EBF Novice Stakes', reversing the York form with runner up Sisyphean. Spirit Of Acklam is owned by Maxwell Morrison, better known as the owner of star mare Reach, but he now has a very nice colt to carry his black and white silks. |

The two-year-old son of Cracksman arrived at the yard last October from Tattersalls Sales and we've always held him in high esteem. The first of our current crop to receive his racing name, Spirit Of Acklam is a wonderful stamp of a horse. He has been given time to grow into his huge frame and we're sure he'll be a better horse at three once he's matured. We're looking forward to seeing how far this good looking lad can go as we're sure he'll win some nice races in 2024! |
