Eligible wins at Southwell for owner Lee Westwood

Course specialist Eligible was in sparkling form at Southwell this afternoon as he recorded his third win of the year. Eligible's victory was the 10th winner we have sent out for Lee Westwood this year making him our top owner for 2024.

Sent off as the 3/1 favourite, Eligible came home three quarters of a length in front of Hitched to take the first division of the 'BetMGM: It's Showtime Handicap' over a mile at the Nottinghamshire track.

Today's success took Eligible's career tally to nine wins, whilst jockey Joanna Mason was recording her fifth win aboard the horse. The son of Dark Angel has been a fantastic servant for the stable since joining from Clive Cox back in 2019, and he's proved his versatility with wins on the all weather and also turf, the highlight being at York in 2023.
