We head for the West Midlands on Saturday with two runners under the floodlights at Dunstall Park.

Breakwater has been off the track for 326 days and he'll make his return to action in the Create Your Bet Builders At Midnite Handicap over an extended nine furlongs. Last seen at Newcastle in January when finishing last of twelve he'll have his second trip to Wolverhampton where he finished fifth of 10 last December. Twelve runners have been declared and Ruth Carr's Magic Runner looks the horse to beat. The three-year-old won here over course and distance earlier this month after negotiating all sorts of trouble in running and she looks a progressive sort.

Carolus Magnus will be partnered by Joanna Mason in the Best Odds Guaranteed At BetMGM Handicap at Wolverhampton. The son of Holy Roman Emperor showed us he still had ability when winning at Musselburgh in October. It had been a long time between drinks as he ended a four year drought, having not won since back in 2021 when he'd recorded two victories at Newmarket.

The obvious danger in the race is the hat-trick seeking South Dakota Sioux who has landed stall one and will be ridden by Rossa Ryan. Spun To Gold has won three of his last four and is in fine form right now.
