Placed in all three starts over hurdles, Lights Go Down bids for his first career victory as he lines up for the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle at Ayr on Monday. Our horse will take a step up in trip to an extended two and a half miles after his previous outing over two miles where he was runner up to Indian River, beaten just half a length, at Wetherby.

A horse very much deserving a win, Lights Go Down has been raised three pounds for his efforts after making his handicap debut off a mark of 104. However, as a four-year-old the race conditions dictate that he gets a very useful 14lb allowance from older horses and runs from the bottom of the handicap.

A home-bred son of Postponed, Lights Go Down is the last foal out of the Hurricane Run mare Darkandstormy who we sadly lost in 2024. An own brother to Unregulated he has shown much more ability than his sibling and we're sure he'll get off the mark very soon.

Eleven horses go to post for the Class D event where last time out course and distance winner Diamond Geezer takes top weight. A winner of two of his ten races Diamond Geezer hasn't convinced with his jumping and despite never falling to date he can put in the odd bad one. The Navigator disappointed last time out havign won three of his previous four starts and he'll be looking to recover his form. El Jefe wasn't beaten far when fourth at Kelso. He's effective on soft ground and looks to be coming to hand.
