Sondad steps up to Listed class at Redcar this afternoon

Sondad has gone from strength to strength in 2026 and this afternoon he steps up to Listed company in the Guisborough Stakes at Redcar.

A winner at Epsom, York and The Curragh this season, Sondad is the pride and joy of owner Gary Routledge who follows him every time he runs.

Sondad passed the quarter of a million pound prizemoney landmark last time out when finishing fourth in the Bold Lad Spring handicap at The Curragh and he faces seven rivals as he bids for the winning prizemoney of over £34,000.

Rated 108, Sondad has three pounds to find with 111-rated Witness Stand but he's in fine form and we expect a big run.
Joining Sondad at Redcar will be Tommo's Ginjaninja who runs in Division II of the Prohibition Bar Handicap. The horses live in adjacent stables and know each other well, and will make the trip to the north east together.

Tommo's Ginjaninja has been placed four times in his nine starts, including two being runners up spots on the all weather.
