It features races such as the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup and the Nassau Stakes, all of which attract top‑class horses from Britain and abroad. The meeting blends high‑end racing with a relaxed, garden‑party atmosphere that’s quite different from the formality of Royal Ascot.

The racecourse buildings are low‑profile and modernist, designed to sit lightly in the landscape rather than dominate it.
