Compton Plume made his debut at Thirsk in 2002. In 2003 he went to be trained by owner Bill Tinning and won three races. He came back to the yard in 2005 and the following year won a handicap at Thirsk under Dale Gibson. Compton Plume was sold at Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale 2007 to race overseas.
