Bustello made his debut at York in the 'Guy Fawkes Stakes' in 1974. He won three consecutive races as a three-year-old at Redcar, Lanark and Hamilton. Bustello ran in the 1976 Lincoln and his final race was at Catterick in August of the same season where he finished fourth.
