The first day of meteorological autumn has arrived and we celebrate the changing of the season with seven runners at Ripon.

Draupnir is the first of our horses to race and he'll be ridden by Shay Farmer in the Napoleons Casino And Restaurant Leeds Apprentice Handicap. Draupnir was a winner last year on soft ground at Thirsk and he likes the easy going. He's tackled trips form seven furlong to fourteen furlongs this year, and this time we race at ten. Cosmos Raj looks the one to beat having won last time out at Redcar.

We are double-handed in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes. Catavega makes his racecourse debut. A half brother to dual Irish winner Daler he'll be ridden by Billy Garritty.

Joining Catavega is The Resdev Roman who will be ridden by Joanna Mason. Seventh on her two starts to date she finished 13 lengths behind Crystal Queen at Beverley last time. The standard in the race is set by the only horse with a current rating, American Psycho. Archie Watson's gelding has a BHA mark of 74.

Roman Crystal

Roman Crystal runs in the five furlong 21 Engineer Regiment Sapper Nursery Handicap at 3.10. She recorded her first career win when successful at Ayr last month.

Lady Dublin is the one to beat here after finishing just four lengths behind Havana Sprite in a Class 2 nursery at Newmarket last time. She races off a pound lower mark here as she drops three classes.

Lexington Boom goes into the race with form figures reading 221 having won at Beverley last time, but the runner up has since been soundly beaten.

Milford Grange and Billy Garritty

The attheraces.com Handicap over a mile sees three of our horses go to post.

Catton Lady goes well on softer ground and she was a winner last time at Ayr and will be ridden by Joanna Mason.

Milford Grange has been proving hard to win with and he's finished runner up in three of his eight starts to date. He also acts on easy ground and will be ridden by Billy Garritty.

Shay Farmer claims a valuable five pounds on Gunalt Wavelength who has been in fine form this year. A seven furlong winner over today's course and also at Doncaster, she ran well in a higher class of race at York last time. She steps up to a mile for the first time in a year, since finishing fifth of five at Salisbury in August 2025.
